Watergate Complex After The Watergate - 1781 Words

On an ordinary morning of June 17, 1972, five burglars were caught in the Watergate complex after signs of breaking in were found on the doors. No one at that time knew this subtle crime would lead to the greatest scandal in the US history and the resignation of the current President, Richard Nixon. Evidences later showed that the Watergate Incident was only a mere part of the ugly crimes the Nixon Administration had committed to achieve their ultimate goal of reelection, and Nixon had intentionally attempted a cover up to save his reputation. The Watergate incident had inflicted a deep suspicion inside the US citizens toward the government, especially the President, because during his terms, Nixon had obstructed justice and refused to†¦show more content†¦Afraiding the report would damage Nixon’s credibility, because it revealed that the government was lying to its people about the US troop populations in Vietnam, the Plumbers broke into the office of the psychiatris t of Daniel Ellsberg with the attempt of finding embarrassing documents that would discredit Daniel. They failed, however, and Daniel was exonerated from all of the charges after the break in was uncovered. The Watergate Burglary was also a mission given to the Plumbers to monitor the democratic party. However, in the morning of June 17, 1972, the Plumbers were caught inside the Watergate complex, and their address books showed that they are connected to the White House. There is no direct evidences that Nixon had ordered the Watergate burglary, but what he had done subsequently was just as despicable. Nixon had directed a criminal cover up of the Watergate incident to destroy evidences, interfere investigations, and annihilate scandals that would lead the Watergate Incident to himself, because it was CRP, his organization, that had funded the burglars------â€Å"the Post reported in August 1972 that a $25,000 check designated for CRP actually went to pay for the Watergate burglary† (the Post). Two months after the burglary, Nixon declared that his counsel, John Dean, had conducted a complete investigation of all leads and subsequently concluded that no one in the White House staff

Comparing student life in college free essay sample

Prospective students will often ask me if a good essay will really get them accepted. The truth is that while no essay will make an unqualified student acceptable, a good essay can help a qualified applicant stand out from the competition. A good essay just might be what turns a â€Å"maybe† into a â€Å"yes. † The college application process takes time, preparation and creativity, which is a lot for any active senior to handle. Summer, however, typically offers about 10 weeks free of classes and homework and many of the other stresses that come with high school. The pressure of the looming college application deadline is still months away, which allows students the freedom to play around with different ideas, test different angles and solicit feedback from friends and family. Another reason to focus your summer energy on crafting a quality essay: at this point in the admission process, it is one of the few things you can still control. This is your chance to show us what you are capable of when you have time to think, prepare, rewrite and polish. Many people agree that a good education is an important quality to have in life. To achieve that good education, one must not only graduate from high school, but also from college. Many people disagree on the similarities and differences between the two different educations. To compare and contrast them is almost unfair, because they are two completely different worlds, each with their own individual qualities. The differences are aplenty, and in many ways they are also similar. The poem Charlotte ONeils song Essay Example For Students

The poem Charlotte ONeils song Essay The poem Charlotte ONeils song was written by Fiona Farrell in the 1980s. Fiona Farrell originates from New Zealand. This poem comes from a group of poems called passengers, passengers consists of three poems and a song. These poems were set in 1871 and were inspired by 19th Century ship records. Charlotte ONeil is a real person, shes 17 years old and she travelled on the Isabella Hercus in 1871 from Britain. Farrell stereotyped charlottes situation on what she knew about lower class women in the late 19th Century. Charlotte left Britain for New Zealand in search of a job to escape from servitude, to find a better life. The poem tells us about Charlottes strenuous lifestyle and the manner in which her mistress treats her. The poem itself consists of five stanzas; each verse has five or more lines accept for the third. The theme of the poem is of Charlotte ONeils bitterness and hatred towards her mistress. She is addressing her opinion of her wretched lifestyle to her mistress. Judging by her tone, she has plenty of courage and knows how to answer up for herself, she might even be described as cheeky. We will write a custom essay on The poem Charlotte ONeils song specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The poem begins with the line  You rang your bell and I answered. From this line you immediately get the impression that Charlotte is being treated like a pet animal in the sense her mistress calls her and she comes running. It is as if Charlotte is being summoned by her mistress to work. The fact shes being summoned to work is the reason this line comes before the rest of the first verse. Charlotte seems as much upset by the loss of her freedom as she is by the hard physical labour. In this verse Charlotte describes the labour she finds herself doing. It varies from washing the dishes to scraping the open fireplace. You can see that the work Charlotte did was almost entirely physical. Charlotte refers to the fact she has to polish the parquet floor. This is the first example of contrast between the lifestyles of Charlotte and her mistress. Parquet flooring is usually associated in rich households, so this represents the wealth of the mistress. I scrubbed till my hands were raw. The word raw emphasises the suffering and pain Charlotte is going through.  The fact she scrubs until she is physically in pain is quite harrowing and you feel quite sorry for her. The word raw could reflect the mistresss temperament in the sense she is possibly forcing Charlotte to work until she is in an incorporable state. The rhyming pattern for this first verse is A, B, C, C, B.You can see that there is a great difference between a silken pillow and andattic cot. A cot would have been very hard, narrow and uncomfortable. The fact she sleeps in an attic suggests her mistress wanted her out of the way away from family and guests. It sounds as if the employer held the view that people were destined to be in a certain social class, which is why the lady refers to the poor girls lot, possibly implying that there was nothing she could do about it. Ironically Charlotte is doing something by leaving the country.  Charlottes employer would be considered an arrogant and selfish woman if she behaved like this today but she would have taken all of Charlottes services for granted at the time and no one would have thought badly of her. The rhyming pattern for the second verse is A,B,C,B,D,D The third stanza tells us how Charlotte had to empty the chamber pot. The upper class used a chamber pot instead of going to the toilet at night, so it would have been Charlottes job to empty the contents in the morning. Charlottes employer clearly felt it her duty to educate her.  The rich man earns his castle, you said,  the poor deserve the gate.  This is a reference to a popular hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful. This verse is usually omitted nowadays because of its undemocratic sentiments. .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 , .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .postImageUrl , .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 , .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2:hover , .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2:visited , .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2:active { border:0!important; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2:active , .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2 .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u2418ea2e511c5b5e9a39483b6952f0d2:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Enduring Love: How satisfying are the three appendices as conclusions? EssayThere is an entire social attitude attached to this comment. The wealthy and privileged believed that they were by birth deserving of the wealth, possessions and position that they inherited, and that in some way they had earned these things. They believed equally of the poor that they deserved their miserable circumstances. These lines also refer to the story of Lazarus in the Bible. Lazarus spent his life begging at a rich mans gate but went to heaven, whilst the rich man went to hell.  In this verse, Charlotte describes what seems to have been the most humiliating of her work experiences, show ing respect to her social superiors. And it is in this verse that she turns the tables on her employer. But Ill never say sir  Or thank you maam'  Charlotte had to call upper class men sir and women maam, and she had to curtsey to show respect and to be mindful of her own lower status, probably when she opened the door to them. Now she will never have to address anyone in this way again. This shows an attitude of determination and a conviction that she has changed her life for good.  This shows that Moniza had experienced an education unlike Charlotte ONeil who would have come from a very poor background. It also shows that the school friend doesnt seem willing to accept things which are different and from other cultures. This emphasises how difficult life would have been for Charlotte. The tiny mirrors sewn onto the material seem to be a way of recreating herself in the country she left. She tries to recall her parents story of her journey to England by boat and uses photographs to help her visualise her birthplace. The conflict in Pakistan brings it alive via newspapers. Sometimes the mirrors reveal her aunts and how they live and finally herself, of no fixed nationality, actually in Pakistan looking at the famous Shalimar Gardens. I pictured my  Birthplace  From fifties photographs.  The gifts encourage the speaker to think of her familys journey to England and to try to picture her birthplace which she doesnt remember. Pakistan is made more real by news of wars there and the speaker tries to imagine returning to a place, which is not quite home.  Much of the English background in the poem is assumed but generally it seems dull and safe compared with the vibrant and violent Pakistan. It is all very well, the poem suggests, for people from different countries to admire what is different there, but what if you have both sets of desires within yourself?  Beyond the story of the presents and the speakers reactions to them lies the dilemma of many people who have no certain identity or nationality. While they may grow up in one country, family and other links mean they never lose the impressions and reality of their country of birth.

Family Friend, Morale Enemy essays

Family Friend, Morale Enemy essays It is a known fact that employers can not please everyone, but many have tried. In an attempt to recruit and keep desirable employees many companies have established family-friendly policies. It is these policies that have caused a controversy to arise with employees who do not have children and feel that they are not getting their fair share of benefits. As Burkett stated in Unequal Work for Unequal Pay, rather than boosting morale, in fact, the programs are having an opposite effect-and for logical reasons. Family-friendly policies include various programs that are designed to help employees balance the demands of work and family. They include alternative work arrangements and dependent care support as well as the government mandated Family and Medical Leave Act. In Unequal Work for Unequal Pay, Burkett states, family-friendliness, they say, pays by promoting loyalty and productivity, reducing absenteeism, tardiness, and turnover, and polishing a companys image. I, like Burkett, disagree with these claims and tend to agree with employees who are not married or do not have children. I believe that when work is involved everyone should be on equal ground. Why should any employee get special treatment just because they can procreate? I have two children and I want my job success to be based on merit. If I have earned it, then give it to me. If it involves benefits such as insurance coverage, then I will pay for my families share. I understand that on the days that my child is sick and required to miss school that it is my responsibility to stay home and take care of her. I will not abuse the situation or take advantage of it because I know that this creates a hardship for my fellow employees. Raising children is a sacrifice that I have chosen for myself. It is a sacrifice of my time and money. It is my primary job and should ...

On Being a Travel Writer for AAA

On Being a Travel Writer for AAA Wanderlust bit me early – as a toddler skipping stones across the Great Lakes, and as a young girl fishing with Dad in the Florida Keys. I’d often dreamed of being a travel writer. After attending the 2011 Missouri Writer’s Guild conference, I had the opportunity to connect with the editor of AAA Midwest Traveler and AAA Southern Traveler. She requested writing samples I’d penned on travel. I jumped at the chance, and emailed her a feature article on horse drawn sleigh-riding published in Missouri Life, two stories on Folly Beach, South Carolina published in The Folly Current, and a personal essay on scuba diving. The editor enjoyed my stories and mailed me a contract for a Caribbean feature article, â€Å"Inside the Bahamas Out Islands,† covering romance in Great Guana Cay, Abaco; Hopetown Elbow Cay’s history, and water sports in Eleuthera, Bahamas. The contract recapped the story idea, provided formatting guidelines, word count, due date, contracted amount, and assignment letter. AAA article prices are preset, so there was no negotiation. After signing and returning the paperwork, I used the assignment letter to contact tourism offices in the locale I was visiting. Sometimes perks are offered After arriving at a resort, I meet with the Public Relations Manager or General Manager to discuss the resort’s unique features and secure quotes pertinent to the article. Perks have included butlered-stays at Sandals Emerald Bay, Exuma, behind the scenes tours at Churchill Downs, an upgrade to an oceanfront beach house in the Bahamas, and an all-day fast-boat adventure in the Exuma Cays. I cherish these comps as I never know when I’ll receive them. As with any story, it’s important to â€Å"Show, Don’t Tell,† a pearl of wisdom I learned as a member of my writing group Saturday Writers. The aroma of the frangipani, the cool ocean mist touching skin, the tangerine and blue violet sunset, all add to the experience. Creating visual images places the reader in the moment. Anything less cheats them. Carrying a variety of cameras helps me connect the dots at a later date, especially if I can’t remember if the hibiscus floating in the sunken tub was red-orange or magenta, or the shape of water droplets in a tide pool were round or oval. I carry a small notebook with me at all times, especially when I’m writing on ocean adventures when a computer isn’t feasible. While on a 007 Thunderball adventure tour in the Exuma Cays, we stopped to feed iguanas, snorkel in the grotto where the James Bond movie Thunderball was filmed, and skip on the sand at Galiot Cay sandbar. Experiences are key in travel writing. When writing about spa-cations then The query period for AAA is open from January through April. Assignments are set shortly thereafter, with deadlines the following year, unless otherwise stated. Source and contact information should be supplied to your editor, whether at AAA or otherwise, which includes names, addresses, emails, websites, and phone numbers for anyone you’ve interviewed or photographed. AAA verifies source information and fact checks the article closer to the date. When you add up all the adventures, people met, and land traversed, it’s not a bad gig. The fact that I’m able to combine my love of traveling with writing and photography is a blessing. And I’ve made many friends along the way.

Total Quality Management Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3500 words - 1

Total Quality Management - Essay Example Various ways of improvements that can lead to its success and development of the company in a more holistic way has also been discussed in this study. Total Quality Management (TQM) at Toyota Japanese organisations were the first to adopt quality management principles during the early 1950s (Ho, 2011, p. 12). The fundamental concepts behind TQM which include methods like Just-in-Time (JIT) and "jidoka" meaning in-station quality were not originally developed by Toyota. However the production followed by Toyota are widely studied and followed by many organisations operating their businesses worldwide. Kaizen or continuous quality forms the basis of Toyota Production System (TPS). Kaizen is found to be enforced at almost every levels of the company. It helps in increasing the commitment levels of the employees of the organization, thereby helping it to reduce its costs and increase in its performance levels. The total quality management system followed by Toyota is commonly known as To yota Production System (TPS). ... The organisation needs to have a top-down approach towards implementing TQM to have any kind of meaningful effects generating out of it. Hence the TQM strategy needs to be initiated by the top management of the organisation and from there it would percolate down to all the management levels of the organisation. 2) The Scope: The scope of TQM within an organisation is not limited to certain people or departments. To implement TQM in the organisational system it is necessary to involve each and every individual working for the company and it also needs to include all the business processes carried on within the organisation. There must be some pre-defined goals or objectives of the organisation and each of the departments of the company would be working together for the fulfilment of the goals of the organisation as a whole. 3) The Scale: Each and every person working for an organisation are meant to have some responsibilities at the personal levels for the improvement and maintenance of quality of the products or services offered by the company and ensuring the satisfaction of its customers. Along with the external customers associated with a business organisation, the internal customers who are mainly the employees of the organisation are also required to be satisfied with the working environment within the company. Proper communication levels and teamwork must be ensured through concerted efforts by all the internal customers of the organisation. 4) The Philosophy: The philosophy behind the concept of TQM is that it does not aim for detection of any kinds of defects or errors but is aimed at the prevention of occurrence of such defects or errors. Hence in

Body armor Essay Example for Free

Body armor Essay Body armor and other protective equipment are vital components of with-in protection services because it shields the body from severe injury that may be associated with the nature of the job. Body armor and other protective equipment are generally designed to shelter the body from materials that come in with a particular velocity or force, such as bullets and knives. This man-made material is designed to prevent the entry that could result in the destruction of internal organs. The body armor prevents damage to the abdominal area of an individual, while the other protective equipment prevents injury to the extremities such as the arm and legs. When a material such as a bullet or a knife is introduced to a body with sheer force, the body armor prevents its entry yet the force still results in a form of shock to the body and this is technically called blunt trauma. There are two general types of body armor, namely soft and hard. Soft body armor is generally composed of one of two fibers, namely aramid and polyethylene that are configured in a particular weave. There are some brands that contain both types of fibers. Unfortunately, soft body armors can only protect an individual from the regular forces such as knives and bullets but are not sturdy enough to prevent bullets coming from machine guns. In this situation, hard body armors are employed for protection and these equipments are composed of plates made of ceramic material. Hard body armors are made of two plates that are positioned to cover the front and the back of an individual. Since ceramic plates are usually rigid, an individual may find this protective material heavy and movement may be restricted. DQ 2: The use of biological weapons has become an increased threat, and amplified since 911. What can we do to prepare for such an attack and or minimize the catastrophic aftermath? In order to be prepared for a possible terrorist attack that involves biological weapons, it is important that government agencies, especially those responsible for monitoring public health, to design contingency plans that would tackle incidents associated with the deliberate introduction of biological weapons to harm a specific population or even the general public. The contingency plan should also be a regular part of the health response system that also deals with pandemic outbreaks, large-scale accidents, as well as natural disasters. In 2002, the World Health Assembly of the United Nations adopted a technical support program that prepares each of the member states to prepare an action plan that would address any future catastrophes (WHO, 2004). For every city, it is important to create an initial response team that would take action whenever a terrorist attack occurs. This initial response team will determine the nature of the attack, on whether it is biological, industrial or bomb-based. The initial response team carries this exclusive responsibility because they are physically present in the city and it is very easy for them to go to the place that has been attacked in order to generate a first-hand account of the incident to higher authorities. Once the nature of the terrorist attack has been established, the initial response team will inform the state agency of the incident, which will in turn report to the national agency. This office will then report to the United Nations office for subsequent action, such as international assistance, in case that the country is incapable of dealing with the disaster, or if the attack is synchronized among several states, such as that depicted in September 11, 2001 in the United States. Biological attacks can also be minimized by vigilant screening of activities in every city and state around the country, including reporting any peculiar individuals that are spotted in strategic locations around the state. Under Milk Wood :: essays research papers

The relationship between Tom and Maggie in Books 1 & 2 I think most of the problems with Tom and Maggie's relationship are due to the fact that Tom thinks that females are inferior to males. He therefore thinks that Maggie is inferior to him and he shows this in the way that he treats Maggie. Tom and Maggie both have a strong relationship with their father so therefore he could have influenced Tom's thoughts. "She'll fetch none the bigger price for that", their dad said this, and by it he means that even though Maggie is clever she won't do any better as regards to marriage. This is a very sexist way for Tom and Maggie's dad to talk about Maggie, as if females are only supposed to get married and produce children and that their intelligence doesn't matter. If Tom's dad thinks like that it could be from his dad that Tom gets his sexist nature: "I told you girls couldn't learn Latin", this is one of the most openly sexist comments Tom makes in the book. Tom very strongly gets his point across by using harsh words such as "told" and "couldn't". This shows how inferior he feels females are, he said, "I told you" almost scornfully as if he's trying to say that if he said it, it must be right which isn't the case. Tom's complete sexist attitude is shown by the word "girls" here he generalises about any females ability to learn Latin although I'm sure that isn't the case and he just makes the comment purely because of his sexist nature. Tom's sexism isn't just used against his sister, he uses it to put others down as well, "like a girl's: Tom thought that truly pitiable". The sexism Tom is showing here is by discriminating against Philip due to his hair apparently looking like a girls. He describes this as "truly pitiable" which shows how strongly he feels. Tom uses the word "girl" as an insult as if by calling Philip a girl he feels he has insulted him. This is a very sexist attitude, as he shouldn't be discriminating against females in this way. Whenever Maggie acts in a way that Tom wouldn't, Tom automatically says she acts in that way, as she is a girl, "girlish way of taking things". This quotation is where Maggie gets agitated and Tom blames that on the fact that she's a girl.

State & Center Relation in India

An essay on the divisions of powers between the Union and the States . Because of its enormous size and economic, social, religious, cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversities our leaders thought unfit to give India a federal constitution. Our constitution provides for decentralization of political author ¬ity. The powers of the Centre and the States have been divided carefully in our constitution. In addition, Part XI of the Constitution (Art. 245 to 255) deals exclusively with the relations between the Union and States. The effort of the Constitution makers has been to grant autonomy to the States on one hand and to maintain unity and integrity of the vast country on the other hand by keeping co-coordinating authority with the Union, ‘Unity in Diversity' is a unique feature, which has been kept in view by Constitution makers. The Constitution clearly enumerates the areas of control under the centre and the states in three lists. List I consists of subject under the Control of Union, while List II contains areas of Control of the States. Yet there is a third list known as concurrent list. Associated essay: A.K. Kraipak v. Union of India Summary The Union and States have concurrent powers on the subjects contained in this list. These lists are contained in seventh schedule of our Constitution. By and large, defense of the country, foreign affairs, currency, railways, shipping and navigation etc. are the subjects of the Union List, while maintenance of law and order, prisons, police force, local govern ¬ments, public health etc. are subjects of State List. The subjects like criminal law and procedure, marriage and divorce, lunacy, forests, economic and social planning etc. are in the concurrent list. The Union Parliament can make laws for the whole or any part of India in regard to subjects contained in Union List while the states have exclusive power to make laws for the state as a whole or any part there of will respect to any of the matters listed in the State List. State Legislatures can also make laws on the subjects contained in the concurrent list. The residuary powers are vested in the centre. Parliament can, however, legislate with respect to a matter in State List if the subject is declared to be of national importance by a resolution of Rajya Sabha or when a proclamation of emergency is in operation. The centre has been given some administrative powers over the states for effective co-ordination. It is the responsibility of the States to ensure compli ¬ance of Union laws within their territory. The centre can give directions to the states for die purpose. The Union can also give directions to a state regarding construction and maintenance of means of communication of national or military importance and for the protection of the railways within the state. The centre can deploy any grave situation of law and order in the state. The power to settle disputes between states relating to distribution of waters of inter-state rivers lies with the Union. The centre can set up inter-state councils, if it feels necessary. For this administrative co-ordination, there is a provision of All-India Services in the Constitution. These services are common to the Centre and States. The recruitment and other service matters are controlled by the centre, while they continue to service their states. The centre, by rotation, utilizes their services on deputation for a specified period.

After the Second World War

After the Second World War, the Western European countries, which were in a rapid development process, tried to meet the deficiencies in their labor supply from neighboring countries in the South, relatively less developed. This request directed to Turkey in the early 60s. Turkish emigration to Western Europe begins by the agreement with Germany made in 1961. This followed similar agreements with Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands in 1964, with France in 1965, and Switzerland in 1967. Additionally, Turkey has implemented its first five-year development plan in 1962. In line with this plan, â€Å"increasing labor exports† was considered a plan goal, along with measures to curb population growth. In the years 1966-67, the German automobile industry, which the Turks worked extensively, had crisis and about 70,000 Turkish workers had fired. Workers who lost their jobs tried to find jobs in neighboring countries such as Holland, Belgium, Denmark, and those who could not find sheltered with their coworkers for a while. The Turkish immigration process which was based on the individual invitation format and the institutional invitation format before bilateral agreements were signed. This process for the central regions, where labor is dominant from the surrounding regions, is the first phase of international labor migration that has never lost its unwavering social, economic, cultural and political dimensions. In the early years of migration until the mid-70s, the majority of immigrants were physically robust men who successfully passed through health checks. This trend gained momentum after 1963 with the partnership agreement signed between Turkey and the EEC. The following governments supported immigration. The promotion of worker' migration has been carried out as the official policy of the Turkish States since the beginning. Due to the economic crisis brought by the oil embargo in Western European countries, there have been significant changes in the structure of Turkish migrants, especially after 1973, when they stopped the recruitment of workers from Turkey. The Family Reunification Act, which first took effect in the Federal Republic of Germany at the beginning of March 1974, created a situation allowing Turkish immigrant workers to bring their family members to the countries they found. Since then, the family reunification process has become the main channel of legal immigration to European countries and has continued with the ongoing applications for marriage, illegal immigration and asylum for political purposes. Based on bilateral agreements with Germany on October 30, 1961 by the state initiated the process of Germany's Turkish emigration was legally terminated with stopping the intake of labor migration from Turkey on November 30, 1973. However, despite all the measures taken during certain periods of the migration movement, it is a known fact that it has been associated with global dynamics and is a systematic migration style.

Blood Analysis essays

Blood Analysis essays Blood is a fluid substance that circulates in the arteries and veins of the body. Blood is bright red or scarlet when it has been oxygenated in the lungs and passes into the arteries; it becomes bluish red when it has given up its oxygen to nourish the tissues of the body and is returning to the lungs through the veins and the tiny vessels called capillaries. In the lungs, the blood gives up the carbon dioxide wastes it has taken from the tissues, receives a new supply of oxygen, and begins a new cycle. This movement of blood is brought about by the coordinate activity of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. Blood is composed of a yellowish fluid, called plasma, in which are suspended the millions of cells that constitute about 45 percent by volume of whole blood. It has a characteristic odor and a specific gravity between 1.056 and 1.066. In an average healthy adult, the volume of blood is one-eleventh of the body weight, or between 4.5 and 6 liters (5 and 6 qt). A great portion of the plasma is composed of water, a medium that facilitates the circulation of the many indispensable factors of which blood is composed. A cubic millimeter of human blood contains about 5 million red corpuscles called erythrocytes; 5000 to 10,000 white corpuscles called leukocytes; and 200,000 to 300,000 platelets called thrombocytes. The blood also carries many salts and organic substances in solution. Blood type, in medicine, classification of red blood cells by the presence of specific substances on their surface. Typing of red blood cells is a prerequisite for blood transfusion. In the early part of the 20th century, physicians discovered that blood transfusions often failed because the blood type of the recipient was not compatible with that of the donor. In 1901 the Austrian pathologist Karl Landsteiner classified blood types and discovered that they were transmitted by Mendelian heredity . The four blood types are known as A, B, AB, and O. ...

How to Convert Grams to Moles - Step by Step Instructions

How to Convert Grams to Moles - Step by Step Instructions Many chemical calculations require the number of moles of a material, but how do you measure a mole? One common way is to measure the mass in grams and convert to moles. Converting grams to moles is easy with these few steps. The Process Determine the molecular formula of the molecule.Use the periodic table to determine the atomic mass of each element in the molecule.Multiply each elements atomic mass by the number of atoms of that element in the molecule. This number is represented by the subscript next to the element symbol in the molecular formula.Add these values together for each different atom in the molecule. This will give you the molecular mass of the molecule. This is equal to the number of grams in one mole of the substance.Divide the number of grams of the substance by the molecular mass. The answer will be the number of moles of the compound. See an example of converting grams to moles.

Discuss the nature of Enterpreneurship in StreetShine case. What are Essay

Discuss the nature of Enterpreneurship in StreetShine case. What are the outcomes and how do they differ from those that might be achieved by philanthropy - Essay Example In general, the level of commitment is greater in a social organization than a commercial organization. A number of scholars and experts define a social enterprise as a business whose principal business purpose is the well being of the society (Chapman, Forbes and Brown, 2007; Darby and Jenkins, 2006). These establishments use various types of methods and disciplines of business coupled with the power of the marketplace for the purpose of advancing the environmental, social and human justice agendas (Black, 2002; Vega and Kidwell, 2007). This essay seeks to throw light on the nature of entrepreneurship in StreetShine case. Furthermore, the essay will also discuss different types of factors related to a social enterprise. However, prior to getting deeper into the analysis portion, the study will at first carry out an in-depth analysis of the case. The case begins with the introduction of StreetShine, a social enterprise operating in the UK. The venture was initiated by Nick Grant in the year 2004 and operates from London. The organization is operating in association with the homeless charity, Thames Reach Bondway. StreetShine specializes in employment and training opportunities for the individuals who are in the process of rebuilding their lives or have experienced homelessness. Furthermore, the organization also runs a professional shoeshine service in hotels and city offices of London. The aim of the organization is to offer the shoe shiners to earn guaranteed income opportunity and along with that gain transferable and valuable skills. The notion of social enterprises came into existence in the mid of the 20th century for the prime purpose of addressing the needs of those segments of the society that has not been dealt properly by the government or the corporate sector (Chapman, Forbes and Brown, 2007; Vega and Kidwell, 2007). Despite the presence of non-profit organizations, since the mid of 1800s in various forms,
